Education Materials Distribution program held at Doldoli Tea Estate

ECDO provided education and health protection materials among tea labor students on 15 February, 2023, at Doldoli Education Support centre of Doldoli Tea Estate. Ms. Nusrat Ajmery Haque, Upazila Nirbahi (Executive) Officer of Sylhet Sadar Upozela was present as the chief guest in that event. Mr. Lakshmikanta Singh, executive director of the ECDO, attended the ceremony as a special guest, while Mr. Abul Kashem Chowdhury  member of the Tuker bazar Union Parishad and the president of Doldoli Education Support Center (ESC) Management Committee presided over the program.

Ms. Nusrat Ajmery Haque, Chief guest of the program and Upozela Nirbahi Officer (UNO) said that the present Government is committed ensure achieving sustainable development goals by the year 2030. The policy of the government is ‘no one will left behind and we will all go forward together. Further she said without the development of tea labor and other marginalized community of the country this accomplishment would not be achievable. She said by 2041, the government hopes to transform Bangladesh into a smart nation. Education is the only way to create ethical and smart citizens for Bangladesh. She emphasizes that since children are the foundation of any community, educating them is crucial to creating a Smart Bangladesh. Children who obtain an education are equipped with the knowledge and abilities they need to develop into responsible adults in their communities. Finally she thanked to ECDO and Hei Verden for implementing this important project among tea labor community.

At the end of the program the guests distributed educational materials, face masks, soaps for washing hand among the present ESC students. It should be noted that ECDO conducted this program under the project of ‘Education Support for Marginalized Children and Promoting Manipuri Children’ supported by Hei Verden, Norway. Ms. Nongpoklai Sinha and Ms. Tasnim Chowdhury of ECDO carried out the entire program.
