Tripura Language Centre (TLC) Inaugurated at Kamalganj

On March 16, 2023, a Tripura Language Centre was inaugurated in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar district under the initiative of Kamalganj Upazila Nirbahi office authority and with the cooperation of ECDO. Mir Nahid Ahsan Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Moulvibazar district presided over the opening ceremony,  Dr. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet was present there as the chief guest. Moreover, Kamalganj Upazila Parishad Chairman and Freedom Fighter Mr.Rafiqur Rahman , Kamalganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sifat Uddin and Lakshmikanta Singh, Executive Director of ECDO were present as special guests.

Chief guest Dr. Mosharraf Hossain thanked the Kamalganj upazila nirbahi office and the partner organization ECDO for undertaking such an important program and said every child of all ethnic groups of this country has the right to study in their own mother tongue. The current government is working hard to ensure this right. He wished the success of this program. In the President’s speech, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) said, Moulvibazar is a district full of various ethnic groups. So here there is ample opportunity to work for their development. He urged to take such new projects for the development of these marginalized communities of the region.

At the end of the program, students of Tripura community received Tripura text books written in KOKBOROK (Tripura) language and other educational materials. It should be noted that this Tripura language education center will be managed by the Kamalganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) office in collaboration with ECDO.
