On 2nd November 2024, Ethnic Community Development Organization (ECDO) organized a Capacity Building Orientation Program aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of its staff members under the project Community Development Through the Initiative of Local Volunteers (CDTILV) supported by Global Fund For Children (GFC).The program was designed to engage participants in a fully participatory learning process, where each individual contributed actively to discussions and activities.
The event commenced with an inaugural speech by Mr. Lakshmikanta Singh, Executive Director of ECDO. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and the organization’s commitment to building a strong, empowered team. The orientation program followed SALT (Stimulate, Appreciate, Learn, and Transfer) approach, which encourages participatory learning and sharing of experiences. This approach was used throughout the session, fostering an open environment for team members to share their personal insights and experiences. All participants actively engaged in the activities, offering valuable contributions from their own professional journeys within the organization. The orientation program was facilitated by Ms. Tasnim Chowdhury and Mr. Pronoy Singha from ECDO. They ensured that the discussions were both informative and relevant to the participants.
The program encouraged open discussions, with team members sharing their experiences, challenges, and key learning from their work at ECDO. Through this collaborative exchange, the staff members not only gained insights into each other’s work but also identified strategies for improving their individual and collective performance. This Capacity Building Orientation Program was a significant event for ECDO, contributing to the professional growth of its staff. The participatory nature of the event, along with the implementation of the SALT approach, ensured that the team was able to reflect, learn, and strengthen their skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Throughout the event, participants discussed their work experiences, challenges, and key learning at ECDO. This collaborative exchange allowed the team to better understand each other’s roles and to identify strategies for improving both individual and collective performance. The program setting in Sreemangal’s natural surroundings further enhanced the reflective and supportive atmosphere. This capacity-building orientation was a significant milestone for ECDO, reinforcing its commitment to professional growth and fostering an empowered team ready to achieve greater impacts within their communities.
