Campaign on Gender and Violence against Women (2012)

A campaign on gender & violence against women was held in Jaintapur Upazila, Sylhet organized by Jaintapur Adibashi Nari Unnayan Samiti a local indigenous women organization. It was organized on 25th September, 2012. On that occasion, local indigenous women arranged a rally & discussion session on gender & women issue locally. They urged the concerned local government authorities to stop all types of violence against women & ensure women rights and empowerment in the country through properly implementation of women development policy recognized by government of Bangladesh. They also demanded for ensuring right & security of indigenous women’s in the society so that they can perform their traditional rituals and preserves their heritage and culture.
