Education and Health Protection Materials Distribution Program

On March 9, 2022, education and health protection materials were distributed to the students of the Patro and tea labor children by ECDO at Sylhet Sadar Upazila auditorium, Sylhet. In that event, Upazila Nirbahi (Executive) Officer Nusrat Ajmery Haque was present as the chief guest. Abdul Jalil Upazela Education Officer, Tukerbazar Union Parisad member Abul Kashem and Dipali Goala were also present as special guests and the program was presided over by Lakshmikanta Singh Executive Director of ECDO. The chief guest said that the ECDO is implementing very important project for the real marginalized children of the area because through this project they are distributing educational materials as well as health protection materials to ensure the health of the children at their school. She thanked ECDO and his Norwegian partner, Hei verden, for their great work. As special guest, Upazila Education Officer Abdul Jalil Talukdar said there is no alternative to education for ensuring the development of tea labor community. He, therefore, advised the parents of the tea-labor to send their children at school regularly. Further he said on behalf of his office that he will try to establish government primary school in the tea gardens located in his jurisdiction. Special guests Abul Kashem Khaled and Dipali Gowala thanked to ECDO and Hei verden in their speeches for the work they are doing to ensure the primary education of the tea labor children and others. At the end of the discussion session, guests distributed educational materials as well as face masks, soaps, hand sanitizers and water containers for hand washing at their school among more than hundreds of students. Mentionable that, ECDO organized this program under the project of Education Support for Marginalized Children and Promoting Manipuri Children and Health safety support for school children supported by Hei verden. The whole program was conducted by Ms. Nongpoklai Sinha and Ms. Murshida Rahman of ECDO.
