Observance of Independence day
Ethnic Community Development Organization (ECDO) marked Bangladesh Independence Day on March 26 with utmost reverence and historical significance at our Manipuri Language Center (MLC) and Education Support Center (ESC). Throughout this commemorative occasion, ECDO facilitated engaging discussion sessions aimed at fostering a profound reflection on history, particularly at the Bhanubil Majhergaon Manipuri Language Center (MLC). Additionally, to broaden the impact of this important observance, separate discussion sessions were convened at the Doldoli and Alaibahar Education Support Centre (ESC) in Sylhet.
Mr. Lakshmikanta Singh, the Executive Director of ECDO, delivered a compelling speech as a distinguished guest speaker at the event held at Bhanubil Majhergon (MLC). Mr. Lakshmikanta Singh commenced the program by delving into the somber events of the night of March 25th and the subsequent liberation war in Bangladesh, underscoring the profound historical significance of the date. His address served as a beacon of knowledge, aimed at enlightening and acquainting the assembled children with the pivotal historical narratives that shaped our nation’s history.
Even amidst the solemnity of the occasion, the students from our Education Support Center and Manipuri Language Center, representing the aspirations and dreams of our nation’s future, exuded remarkable enthusiasm and energy. Their resilient spirits, infused with a deep sense of curiosity and eagerness, stood as a testament to our country’s enduring resilience. They paid tribute to the courageous freedom fighters and revered national heroes who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for liberation through offerings of flowers, poetry, and various forms of artistic expression, including renditions of the national anthem of Bangladesh. In essence, the commemoration of Bangladesh Independence Day served not only as a moment for historical contemplation but also as a platform for instilling the spirit of patriotism and honoring the sacrifices of those who paved the way for our cherished freedoms.
