Refreshers training for ESC and MLC Teachers
On 11 March,2025 ECDO a day long Refreshers Training for Teachers held at ECDO office, Sylhet. under the project Primary Education Support for Marginalized Children (PLESMC) supported by Hei Verden, Norway. In this training Mr. Lakshmikanta Singh, executive director, launched the program. The program was designed to improve the teacher’s abilities and knowledge of effective student communication, modern teaching strategies, and various mathematical problem-solving methodologies. Shanta Kumar Singha, Headmaster of Krishna Chandra Govt. Primary School and Cluster Trainer of Primary School Teachers, performed as the Training of Trainers (TOT) and conducted the training. Teachers from Manipuri Language Centre (MLC) Mr. Sumon Singha and Mr. Satyajit Sharma as well as Education Support Centre (ESC) teachers Ms. Pompa Chakrabarty, Dipty Loher and Shamoli Patro participated in the training session from 9 am to 5 pm.
The attendees were introduced to contemporary teaching techniques that emphasized generating a positive learning environment for the children. Specially Manipuri Language Centre (MLC) teachers received an in-depth insight on teaching Manipuri language. In order to achieve good teaching and learning outcomes, the teachers also learned effective communication skills with their students. A variety of question patterns and approaches were presented to teachers. These methods included asking open-ended, clarifying and other questions. By applying such range of question patterns and tactics, teachers may create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that promotes active participation and in-depth learning. Also, approaches to resolving mathematical issues were introduced to the teachers. This would make it easier for them to create an interesting educational environment where students learn more than just the fundamentals and receive cutting-edge information to help them succeed in their studies.
The daylong training program was ended with positive vibes and the teachers expressed their appreciation for the knowledge they acquired during it.
