Refreshers training on Capacity Development
On 25th August 2025, Ethnic Community Development Organization (ECDO) organized a Refresher Training on Staff Capacity Development at the ECDO office, supported by the Global Fund for Children (GFC). The training aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and efficiency of staff members through participatory discussions and shared experiences from the field.
The session began with an opening speech by Mr. Lakshmikanta Singh, Executive Director of ECDO, who emphasized the importance of professionalism, time management, and aligning with the organization’s mission and vision. He also highlighted the need for teamwork and accountability across all levels. The program was designed to engage participants in a fully participatory learning process, where each individual contributed actively to discussions and share their activities.
Throughout the event, participants discussed their work experiences, challenges, and key learning at ECDO. This collaborative exchange allowed the team to better understand each other’s roles and to identify strategies for improving both individual and collective performance. Participants actively engaged in discussions covering key topics such as individual improvement areas, following the chain of command, meeting district deadlines, timely office attendance, and proper documentation practices. Staff also worked on creating action plans and committed to ongoing follow-up and weekly checklists to monitor progress.
This refresher training served as a valuable opportunity for the ECDO team to reflect, reconnect, and recommit to their shared goals. It reinforced the organization’s focus on building a capable, motivated team equipped to deliver quality service and uphold ECDO’s mission in the communities it serves.
